We are heading into fall… already! It feels like this year has just sped by, and now that we are quickly approaching the winter season, I think I need to recommend that everyone take a little extra time this Thanksgiving weekend to practice self-care and love on yourself a little. Be thankful for your health. Be thankful for your family and friends (and support network!). Be thankful that you have enough to get by. And be thankful that you are here to experience this life! It really does have its amazing moments.
So, I want to sum up my advice for you for the rest of the fall in a few simple sentences:
Sleep well. Eat good food. Start actively working on reducing your stress levels. Take the time to move your body regularly. Dress appropriately for the changes in the weather. Love on your loved ones. Make new friends. Enjoy amazing food and drinks. BREATHE.
We are almost through this pandemic (hopefully), and it has made me realize a few things about life… my life, in particular, and a lot about the people in it. I grew away from some during the lockdown, I grew closer to others. I made new friends and lost old ones. I learned to love being by myself, and thoroughly enjoy my time with my man. And now, with the holidays just around the corner, I am realizing that I am thankful for a whole lot of things!
Especially the family time that I have coming up this weekend… there is always so much love in the room whenever we all get together! I am very much looking forward to some turkey, wine with my cousins, stories with my aunts and uncles, playing with the small kids and learning from the older folks. Love everywhere!
Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving everyone!
