Be silent, be still

This weekend, it’s all about stillness. The act of being still (literally stopping moving and stopping doing things) is something that I think not too many of us are very good at.. which is sort of sad if you think about it. Are we born to move? To toil? To accomplish? But in the end, this exhausts us. It drains us. It is not what fuels our souls.
I am finding these days that even though there isn’t a ton that I have to get done and accomplish each day, I am still exhausted by mid-afternoon. I think it is just a side effect of slight burnout because of all this stress just from life lately. I know that I need a break.
And so, I am taking three solid days to just relax, be silent, and be still. Being still doesn’t only mean to physically BE STILL and stop doing whatever it is that you are doing. It can also mean to be still in our minds, at peace in our hearts and spirits no matter what is happening in this crazy world around us. My favourite way to define being still is by being in a state of no anxiety, worry, frantic thoughts or uptight feelings. Being still means to stop fighting the battles that you know are out of your control. Being still can mean to just simply surrender.
I have a hunch that this down time is exactly what I need! Looking forward to shutting down for a few days.
When was the last time YOU took some time to just stop doing and stop being and just EXIST for a while? We all need that sometimes. Maybe take some down time this weekend, away from all this talk of viruses and vaccines and fear, and just BE for a while.
Namaste 😊
